Visit to Bridgetown Alive exhibition12.00.00am GMT Sat 20th Nov 2004 Bridgetown Alive, the community action group set up under the market and coastal towns initiative, held an open day on Saturday at St. John's Church Hall and Totnes Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Mike Treleaven, went along to see for himself what had been achieved. The group has been active for about three years and with the benefit of grant aid has been able to consult widely on the future of Bridgetown. Successful projects already completed include the provision of equipment in the recreation ground and further improvement is also planned along the path known locally as 'the chicken run'. People's views are being sort on public transport and future developments in the area. Speaking after his visit Mike Treleaven said: 'Bridgetown Alive is a good example of public involvement in the development and future plans for the community. I was delighted to meet Trevor Nuttall, the treasurer, who explained how the project had started and its successes to date. Groups such as this are a key to getting local people involved in planning the future of their communities and I wish them every success'
